I have just received word from his son, Daniel, that LARRY KLAUS passed away this morning. Larry, Kathy and their family have been great friends for over forty years. I introduced Larry to Gyro in 2008. He retired and remained active in his community. He was an avid golfer and was a member at Belvedere. His wife Kathy has been active in Gyrettes.
Kathy and Larry have spent their winters in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a number of years and have considered it their second home. Larry’s heath took a turn for the worse about a month ago, then took a deep dive last week. Rugby tests were performed that indicated a tumr in his bowel. Blood of specific types is apparently difficult to obtain there and they had to postpone the surgery until they got the anticipated amount to proceed. The surgery confirmed the tumor and apparently, it was of a rare type that progressed very rapidly and with a poor prognosis for survival. He succumbed this morning with Kathy and Daniel at his side. Our hearts go out to them both and to all his family and friends. Obviously, it is too early for any news regarding an obituary, funeral, celebration, etc. I will keep you posted.
If you like, say a prayer for Larry and the Klaus family.
Scott
I enjoyed golfing and Gyro with Larry and will miss his smiling face (always seemed to be smiling) it was easy to be happy around him. Take care my friend.
